Orlando is well known for its family friendly entertainment and theme parks, but its Jazz culture is often overlooked. Orlando is home to many amazing musicians who often perform at the theme parks as well as Jazz clubs, lounges and other venues throughout Central Florida. The Jazz music scene is thriving in Orlando and here are some places to look.
Timucua Arts Foundation – 2000 S Summerlin Ave, Orlando, Florida – Make sure to check the calendar, but this is a beautiful intimate venue that features a variety of artistry from music to art.
Pilars Martini – 146 W Plant St, Winter Garden, Florida – With a Thursday night open mic and a Sunday Jazz jam, there are always fantastic local musicians and visiting guest artists stopping by Pilars in Winter Garden.
Bosendorfer Lounge – 325 South Orange Ave, Orlando, Florida – Located in the Grand Bohemian Hotel there is Saturday night Jazz music in the rotunda featuring a piano player.
JazzTastings – 164 Lake Ave, Maitland, Florida – Just outside of Orlando is an intimate restaurant with different bands playing Jazz most nights of the week.
Eddie V’s – 7488 West Sand Lake Rd, Orlando, Florida – An upscale restaurant with a nightly Jazz trio.
BB King’s Blues Club – 9101 International Dr #2230, Orlando, Florida – Very entertaining house band playing blues and Jazz with a dance floor for anyone looking to cut a rug!
Heidi’s Jazz Club – 7 North Orlando Ave, Cocoa Beach, Florida – Wednesday through Sunday there is live music by great bands. On Sunday there is an open jam for any musicians who want to take the spotlight.
Blue Bamboo Center for the Arts – 1905 Kentucky Ave, Winter Park, Florida – Music venue offering live music by local bands most nights of the week. A variety of artists come through from Jazz trios to Big Bands, blues and jazz music.
