“In researching swing bands for my wife’s 50th birthday party, I came across Vivacity. Having video performances on their website helped to make my decision. Heather was very helpful in giving me options and making recommendations based on my budget. A few days before, I was contacted by Dave, the band director, to go over any final details. They arrived promptly, set up their equipment, and were ready to go at the start of the party.  More importantly, this was a “Roaring 20’s” party, so they also dressed the part. Everyone at the party kept asking about the band, where I found them, and how great they were. For me, one word sums it up, “WOW.” I just wished the party was longer! Great music, costumes and dancing!  I would highly recommend Vivacity!!!  Thank you again for a great surprise party for my wife!”

“The concept is simple; take a young woman who is also a xylophone virtuoso, mix her with a crew of top notch jazz musicians, add a singer with a joyful, playful disposition, and have them put together a show reminiscent of the old radio variety shows, and you have Vivacity. The thing is, however simple the concept may be, nobody else is doing it. Between the arrangements, the dresses, the high level playing (tight yet very much spontaneous) and the overall sound, the project sends you back in time to an era when art and entertainment lived side by side, in harmony. This is a class act, from top to bottom, and it was indeed a pleasure to record, even though the video aspect brought some challenges to the audio recording. I hope that you will have as much fun listening to it as I did recording it. And try to catch Vivacity live as often as you can, you will tap your toes all the way home.”

Heather Thorn and her band, Vivacity, were a terrific addition to our reunion celebration. We were excited to book the ensemble, and it didn’t disappoint. The evening event included cocktails and dinner, and Vivacity provided the perfect ambiance. The music shifted between background and center stage, depending on where we were in the program, and the guests were delighted. I look forward to seeing Heather and Vivacity again–they are a wonderful part of the Central Florida music scene.
